AUTHOR TALK WITH NAOMI FOYLE
Naomi Foyle is a British-Canadian writer, editor, educator and activist. Her many poetry publications include The Night Pavilion (Waterloo Press), an Autumn 2008 PBS Recommendation and Adamantine (Red Hen/Pighog Press, US/UK). She is also the author of verse dramas, essays, short stories and five science fiction novels, including eco-SF quartet The Gaia Chronicles, adapted in 2022 into the award-winning multimedia theatre production ASTRA. Naomi Foyle has read her work in the UK, North America, Europe and Iraq. Based in Brighton, she is Reader in Critical Imaginative Writing at the University of Chichester, Deputy Director of Waterloo Press, and a Fellow of the Muslim Institute. She is currently completing a travel memoir of her 1999 journey to India to explore her Scottish family history in the Raj.

Mist and Mountain Creative Residency proudly presents KATHLEEN JAMIE, the new NATIONAL POET OF SCOTLANDKathleen Jamie, poet and essayist, was born in the west of Scotland. Her work concerns nature, travel and culture. Her poetry collections to date include The Overhaul, which won the 2012 Costa Poetry Prize, and The Tree House, which won the Forward prize. Her non-fiction includes the highly regarded books Findings and Sightlines, both regarded as important contributions to the ‘new nature writing’.
